"Beyond the Blush Beauty Blowout", Maven Magazine's Anniversary Treat!

I have so many backlogs honestly, but I realized that it's better to blog while you're still into an event or something that just happened to you. You know, while you still have a "hang over" of it. So starting to this point I'm giving myself at least the same day or a day or two as the deadline for my blog posts. I guess that way, I'll be able to deliver everything on a fresh and organized note. I promise to trim down my 13 "draft posts" on the coming days. :)))

By the way, I spent another Satur-date with a very dear friend of mine, Barbie. She invited me to attend Maven Magazine's "Beyond the Blush Beauty Blowout", the magazine's anniversary treat to every working girl, soon to be yuppies or even mothers out there. Barbie treated me to this event so I really cannot thank her enough because it was such a wonderful event filled with so much fun & learning! Here are what we actually had at the event held at TriNoma earlier:

Even though I am no more a fresh grad, the string of workshops which include tips and the know-hows on personality and work ethics development will surely be a big help in the near future especially when time comes that I need to change career path.

I don't have a camera with me so it was Barbie who took a lot of photos. Unfortunately, her memory card seems not to be so cooperative but I hope it still works so I can grab more photos. :) For the mean time, here are some of the photos from the event captured by my chic Alcatel phone:

"M" for Maven Magazine. By the way, Maven is a new word to me so I googled it and found out that it means someone who is skilled, well-experienced or knowledgeable. Which I guess it true to the content of their magazine. I've read the anniversary issue and learned new things especially on relationship. My favorite feautre in this mag is the "Ask Ms. C". I don't know, maybe because this is what I need most right now? I need to ask Ms. C to find answers to questions about my current relationship, or rather, past relationship. Ms. C's answers to the questions are very realistic and very helpful. I'm planning to try sending in some questions for this portion. And I am hopeful to find some answers there too. :)

SunDMan and Barbie with our loot bags! Oh, another amazing fact from the event is that we just had to purchase Maven's June-July Issue for only Php100 to enter the event. Would you believe that the loot we are holding down there is worth Php500! Not to mention the workshops from Globe Image Managment Inc., JobsDB.com, Benefit Salon, Nivea, Suesh, CCMA, and Blowout Bar Manila, and our cupcake Sweet Patti Cakes and wine from Manny O Wines.

See what's inside the loot bag!

I'm sorry but I am not really knowledgeable about make up tools. Can you please tell me what's the use of this cute thingy from Suesh? :))

Look! I also took home another loot from Barbie. She's just too sweet! She gave me this Serendipitea loot she got from the event she attended prior to the Maven Magazine's. Thank you Barbie! :))

Thanks to the sweetest couple Barbie and Mico for keeping me company and for saving me from boredom! hahaha. See you soon again guys! I enjoyed being with you! :)

Rockwell's Bazaar Search for The Next BIG Thing 2012

Hello there guys! I missed you so much and this blog too! hehe. Just wanna share to you the latest bazaar event that I've been to. I don't know, I just love attending bazaars because aside from the fact that most of the stuffs there are being sold for a cheaper price, it's also where I can find new-to-the-eye brands and unique products. Since I wasn't able to shop at the Superb Bazaar during the Philippine Fashion Week due to my hectic schedule and workloads, I told myself that I cannot miss this one. Well, aside from that, one of my blog sponsors which is PopJunkLove was one of the participants to Rockwell's Bazaar Search for The Rockwell's Bazaar Next BIG Thing 2012. Also one of the reasons that I made sure to visit is to give my support for them. It was like hitting 3 birds with one stone talaga. Finding nice stuffs and new brands, wise-shopping, plus supporting and meeting my blog sponsor.

Check out their lovely booth!

Freeway: A Tribute to the National Artist for Music Levi Celerio

Whew! Finally! So sorry for my late posts sweeties. I've been so busy plus been very sick. Argh. If only I can take a bottle of Vitamin C for instant stronger immune system. I've always been like this especially during the rainy season.

Anyway, here are the highlights of the Freeway Philippines' National Artist Collector Series presenting Levi Celerio held last June 4 at The Row Glorietta 5, Makati.

I was grateful to be invited at the launching and tribute night of "Freeway x Levi Celerio" Collection. I actually find it weird yet interesting that a clothing brand would bring into play the lives and works of National Artists as an inspiration to their anthology.
Freeway is (I think) the only brand so far that thought of honoring and celebrating our rich history and culture through our National Artists. On the previous years, Freeway has launched their collections inspired by various National Artists including the National Artist for Visual Arts, Vicente Manansala last 2011. And to continue the custom, Freeway's Fall Collection 2012 was dedicated to honor and rejoice the works and life of the music legend, Levi Celerio.
The Legendary "LEAF" used by Levi Celerio to
create his compositions
Levi Celerio is a well-known lyricist and composer of love, folk, and patriotic songs. Some of his famous works are "Sa Ugoy ng Duyan" (one of my favorites, a very touching song for me since I long lost my mom) "Saan Ka Man Naroroon", "Waray-Waray", and "Ang Pipit".

Guests were warmly accommodated by Freeway. Light delectable dinner were served , there was photo booth, and loots as well!
 My messy plate. haha!
The very creative LOOT from Freeway
Many people were present during the event. Celebrities such as Ms. G. Tongi as event host, and the Asia's Queen of Songs, Ms. Pilita Corrales as the performer of the night. Families, relatives and even supporters of the veteran lyricist were also at hand to witness the historic event including media partners, bloggers and freeway fans.

The event was hosted by the very gorgeous Ms. Giselle Tongi.  Do you know that she's the very first endorser of Freeway? I don't. haha! :)
And of course, the one and only, Ms. Pilita Corrales who shared her personal encounter working with
Levi Celerio in translating some of her Spanish songs in Filipino...

Watch this video of Ms. Pilita Corrales' singing the popular composition of Levi Celerio,
 "Ang Pipit"

I got goosebumps while she was singing that I suddenly felt proud. :)

Now here's another "Ang Pipit" version of Ms. Pilita, in the tune of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance.
This made me laugh hard core. haha! Aside from being a singer,
the innate comedian side of her is undeniable.

After the performance, interaction, trivia and a little bit preview of Levi Celerio's life was discussed by the Cultural Historian and Music Critic Dr. Antonio Hila together with Ms. Pilita & Ms. G.

The event ended with a closing remarks of Freeway's CEO, Ms. Sheree Roxas Chua-Gotuaco
where she extended her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported and joined in the
newest undertaking of Freeway.

More photos from the event!

The FREEWAY X LEVI CELERIO 2012 Collection:

Long Sleeve Graphic Printed Dress-Php995
Three Quarter-Sleeved Wifebeater Sublimation
Print Top-Php1,395

They are now AVAILABLE at all Freeway Stores! Visit HERE & HERE to see more designs.

The loot comes with a Mini Harmonica Necklace and a CD featuring
"The Best of Levi Celerio"

The harmonica is actually working! Can somebody teach me how to play harmonica?

The leaf will always be a memento that there once lived a Filipino named Levi Celerio who touched, inspired and awaken each and everyJUAN's nationalistic side.

I feel honored being able to witness such educational and historic event  filled with so much entertainment.
Congratulations Freeway for putting up another meaningful and successful campaign!
