Quickpost: Random Saturdate Afternoon

After spending the entire morning at home cleaning, bumming, reading, and watching films, I decided to spend my afternoon at the nearest mall near our place which is EDSA Shangri-La Mall.

It was already around 4pm when I went out, perfect time for me to take a walk to the mall since the sun is quite setting. After paying for our electric bill, I suddenly felt my intestines crawling inside my tummy. haha! I almost forgot that I only had breakfast till that time.

I thought of having milk tea but then instantly felt of eating in a Japanese Restaurant. I kinda felt the crave of eating something with crab-stick or tempura.

Options were Kimono Ken, Tokyo Tokyo, Pepper Lunch  and SumoSam. My feet brought me at SumoSam instead and got enticed with their Kani Sizzling Plate which I will be sharing with you on my next SunDManOnYourTummy post.

After my late lunch, I remembered that Marks & Spencer Philippines' CRUNCH Time Promo is still on-going and you know-what-happened-next. Haha! What did I buy? See my upcoming post. :)

And just when I am about to leave the store, I noticed the photos displayed on the event center of the mall. As a usual pass-byer of the mall, I kinda used to photo/painting exhibits in the said area. Since still feeling bloated from my satisfied craving, I made a quick look on the photos displayed.

Photos showcased are actually entries from  the Standard Chartered Bank Philippines' Company-Wide Photography Competition. Sharing with you some of the interesting and creative photos from different categories including the best entries and runner-ups in the competition.

Seeing these photos makes me feel proud. They reflect the rich culture traditions and heritage that we Filipinos have. Competitions like this is indeed a constant reminder that patriotism still lies somewhere in the heart of each and every Juan. Filipinos are undeniably gifted with so much talent and creativity. Congratulations to the winners and I hope that more of this kind would be initiated not only in the private sectors. I encourage you guys, especially those who are photo enthusiasts, to drop by to see for yourself and get some inspiration.

Being overwhelmed with the pieces of arts of our own fellow Filipinos, I got reminded of a book written by a Filipino author that I've been wanting to read since last month. I passed by the National Bookstore on my way home and was lucky to be able to grab one of the last two pieces left in the rack.

Thanks to them for accompanying me home. hahaha! Hmmm, thinking to whom shall I give the other M&S goodies. :) Also, I promise to make my first ever book review once I'm through with the book.

So this is how I got a Random Saturdate Afternoon with myself. haha! I think it went well because I didn't even notice the time plus, I got to try and discover new things on my own and give myself a little treat. :)

See particulars on my upcoming posts! Stay tuned sweeties!

How about you? How's your Mid-October Saturday? Rather, when was the last time you had a random date with yourself? :)

(Oh it's Sunday already! 2:00 AM exactly on my laptop. Have a great Sun-date with God and your family!)

Love,

Art of Solitude

I just wanna share this phrases from my favorite author I've read while browsing my news feed on facebook.

"For those who are not frightened by the solitude, everything will have a different taste.
In solitude, they will discover the love that might otherwise arrive unnoticed.
In solitude, they will understand and respect the love that left them.

In solitude, they will be able to decide whether it is worth asking that lost love to come back
or if they should simply let it go and set off along a new path.
In solitude, they will learn that saying ‘No’ does not always show a lack of generosity
and that saying ‘Yes’ is not always a virtue.
And those who are alone at this moment, need never be frightened by the words
of the devil: ‘You’re wasting your time.’
Or by the chief demon’s even more potent words: ‘No one cares about you.’
The Divine Energy is listening to us when we speak to other people,
but also when we are still and silent and able to accept solitude as a blessing.
And when we achieve that harmony, we receive more than we asked for."

-Paulo Coelho.

-YES, in solitude, I was able to listen and obey  to what the Divine Energy wants me to follow.
See you again sweeties! I'm going back to my one and only love, BLOGGING!

Warm hugs and kisses,
♥ SunDMan ♥

Good morning BACKLOGS x Chock-Full Weekend

Hellooooooooooooooooo my dear sweeties! Argh. I've been so busy (naks!) last weekend. That's why I really missed SunDManOnFeat. If you've noticed, I wasn't able to tweet and blog a lot over the weekend. I wasn't even able to greet your DADDIES a Happy Father's Day! :( BELATED! ♥ I wasn't able to post the posts I need to post. (anu daw?) haha. Geez. I feel guilt-ridden talaga!

Just to share you why the CHOCK-FULL weekend, well last Saturday was SUPERB. I went to The Next BIG Thing Bazaar to do a little shopping and at the same time to support and vote for Popjunklove na din. Grabe guys, I was able to buy 2 items for Php500 from Cosmopolitan. Familiar? I think they have branches at Powerplant, Trinoma and Greenbelt. And I was so happy to met people I didn't expect to meet there like Ms. Carmel of Purple Groom. :) And yes, I saw the pretty and sweet faces behind Popjunklove, Ms. Maan & Romana Salud! You'll love them as much as you'll love their items! Hope you did support them too!

Call Me Maybe Baby Brother?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Just the thought that I will make this post makes me shiver and laugh to death already!
This is actually a video of me and my baby brother covering the viral song "Call Me Maybe". We woke up last Saturday watching different versions of Call Me Maybe covers and found ourselves doing our own. I just wanna SHARE the FUN especially that it was our first time to do something as crazy as this. And I hope won't be the last. :)

I wanna share this to you guys first before this goes viral and trending worldwide! WOW, youtube sensation? hahaha. Prepare for a real nerve-racking and hilarious scene here. #dyahe! haha. We were just merely having fun and we don't even memorize the lines! hahahaha.

My BU3 Loot

Haloooo! Feeling sinisipag to blog tonight since tomorrow's a holiday! Yiiipeee! Expect more tomorrow because I promised that I'll finish all my backlogs tomorrow.
BTW, I just wanna share what's inside my CLEAR Tote last BU3. Thanks to Clear for helping us save our mother earth by giving away tote bags during the event! :)

First, I got these 3 for free, the tote bag from clear (unli?) haha, back issue (March 2012) of Meg Magazine and lastly, a toiletry kit courtesy of ETC! :)

If you were there, you know that it was kinda hard searching for great pieces for friendly prices because everyone seems to be throwing out, throwing in stuffs all around. haha! In my case, I visited some of the booths that I told I am going to visit on my Hype for #BU3 post. I did but they were all crowded and so I decided to save myself from chaos. LOL. So I flocked to these 3 not-too-crowdy and organize (so far) booths and here are what I got:

HYPE for #BU3!

YES! Tomorrow is the day of the most awaited bloggers + summer + bazaaar event for a budding blogger like me. This year will be the first time to attend such! I just want to share how "HYPER" I've been today, until now, especially on twitter, because of BU3! haha.

Almost all of the bloggers that I love including my style icons are selling their shoes, bags, clothes and accessories for a much cheaper price!

Since I am on a very very tight budget lately, (you know it's my brother's birthday tomorrow, it's been my dad's birthday this week too...we will be celebrating their birthdays tomorrow as well...saved money for my gifts! Pwede ba kiss na lang? LOL!) Bloggers United 3 is definitely a blessing in disquise to fill in my outfit needs without hurting my wallet too much. And I would love to share you who originally owns the clothes I am wearing for an outfit post.

My giddiness encouraged me to spy on some participating bloggers and see what they are selling for tomorrow! Most of them tweeted their ensembles for peeking!

Check 'em out here:

Cheyzer Pedregosa of thewalkingrecessionista.com:
Eyeing for those 2 cream-colored ones!

Haven't got any idea of what's her size but I'll make sure to drop her booth...

Patricia Prieto of itspatriciaprieto.com:
This one made me somehow excited! I'm not losing hope to grab some of theirs! 1 inch difference wouldn't put my spirit down! haha.

Lissa Kahayon of lissakahayon.com:
Eyeing this one! NO MORE THAN 700 pesos for pairs of shoes & clothes! I bet this will draw lots of buyers! And am surely one of them!

Vern Enciso of vernenciso.com:

haha. Vern's the most cluttered one.  hehe. We're kind of the same when organizing shoes! haha! I don't think I can have any of these. I believe her shoe size is 9. That's real saaaad.

On the other hand, I bet Laureen Uy & Camille Co are sharing booth for tomorrow, based on their tweets lang hehe. Selling some of their accessories and shoes!

Laureen Uy of breakmystyle.com & Camille Co of itscamilleco.com:

Kryz Uy of kryzuy.com shares a sneak peek on her facebook page too! Click here to see a bunch!

Again, they are only SOME of my top picks! More than 50 bloggers are participating to this event! Great finds for friendly price! Plus you can have a chance to have a souvenir photo pa from your favorite bloggers! Oh diba? San ka pa? Sa BU3 na!

I've noticed that bloggers will mainly sell their shoes. Something that I love! haha. If you're a shoe addict like me, this is something you shouldn't miss! Anyway, how much is Php100 for admission fee when you could save a thousand and help other people SMILE while you shop your heart out!

Check out Ana Gonzales' guidelines on how to get to the venue and other details HERE.
Everyone are also being encouraged to bring their own tote/shopping bags to save our Mother Earth! I am supporting this one so don't forget yours!

Follow @bloggers_united on twitter or hop on their facebook page, Bloggers United: An Interactive Shopping Affair  for more updates and info! BTW, some bloggers are giving away tickets to the BU3 up to the last minute on twitter so watch out!

Since it's my first time, expect that I'll be taking lots of photos that I can!  Together, let's SHOP 'TIL WE DROP!

See you tomorrow lovely ladies! Hoping to make lots of new friends! ♥

Happy birthday Papa! ☺

Today is the birthday of the most important man in my life. The one who tirelessly and patiently manage my stubbornness and tantrums since I was a kid. The one who continuously give pieces of advice and support whenever I need one. He is my father Luisito Manahan a.k.a Papa Otis! I love him with all my heart and I just cannot be more grateful to GOD for blessing me and my siblings such one-in-a-trillion DAD!

If we're friends on facebook or even a fan of my facebook page...your timeline definitely got flooded with my greeting posts addressed to my dad. Before I forget, today is also the birthday of my Ninong Jhon Jhon who is in Singapore now. He is the youngest brother of my father and it's just amazing that the first and last siblings was fortuitously born on the same date, May 28. So you could always expect double-celebration with that. But not anymore since my Ninong has to fly to Singapore for greener-pasture.

Going back to my father, I know words will never be enough to make him feel our LOVE but I just want to express and share how much HE mean the world to us. Thank you Papa Otis for constantly and endlessly devoting your time, sacrifices, love, and life for Alvin, Sunshine and Luisito Jr., ALONE for 20 years and counting ever since Mom died. I am sure she's happy in tears today watching us grow into virtuous and upright beings. Thank you for always reminding us to always keep our feet on the ground and to keep our faith in HIM. You are the best dad one could ever find in the world. Happy Happy Birthday PAPA! We love you so much!

I wanna share to you the photos and quotes + messages I shared on my facebook account. :)
Really, sorry for flooding guys! :)

"A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty. -Unknown Author"

I love you Papa Otis Manahan! This day is all for you! :)

"There are three stages of a man's life: He believes in Santa Claus, he doesn't believe in Santa Claus, he is Santa Claus. -Unknown Author"

I love you Papa Otis Manahan! Happy birthday! :)

My favorite and the last:

"The greatest thing a FATHER can do to his children, is to love their mother.
- Anjaneth Garcia Untalan"

He did the greatest thing. Being a widower for 20 years and counting...I love you Papa Otis Manahan!♥

Trials are always there. Our secret in overcoming each of them? We face every life's challenge together. :) Thank you to Papa Otis! Happy Birthday!

One more!
Happy happy birthday Papa Otis! We love you!!!!♥

It's been a year!

I can't believe it's been exactly one year since I first entered the newly established and furnished building of the City Government of Valenzuela. Today is my work anniversary! [if there's such] I don't in fact, celebrate anniversaries for I hate looking after dates. Even my boyfriend and I do not have one. I don't know actually why I am writing this post. haha!

I've been working as an online coordinator and PR specialist under the City's Public Information Office for a year now. Until today, my job remains a challenge for me. I guess dealing with people from different walks of life  is one if not the most challenging job you can ever have. Some people have been very helpful while some remains to be a pain in my *ss. Nevertheless, I make sure to learn something with every task and cases that is being given to me. I appreciate and treasure all the experiences I had with my team for 1 year now. I learned to love my job and I must say that I am enjoying my work more this past few weeks despite having you know, some doubts and second thoughts if I should continue being a government employee for one more year due to some other 'factors'.

I won't lie that I stopped looking for other career and opportunities in private sector. I still do. I believe it will come to me on the right time, in HIS time. GOD maybe has something to teach me while I am still here. Yes, I strongly believe that we are where we are today because of a certain purpose. As of now, I will make the most of what I have by discovering and learning new things that will soon be beneficial to me. :)

BTW, I arrived very very early in my office today despite the fact that I slept at around 2AM. haha! I think I'm gonna take a super power nap before the clock ticks 8 o'clock! HAHA!
Later I'll be launching another blog giveaway so watch out!

My, time flies really really fast! Happy Workversary to me! Cheers to bottomless hopes and dreams!

Sleepy hug,

I DARE TO BE DIFFERENT!

Have you visited Meg Magazine's facebook page or website lately? Well you should! haha. Last week, I received an e-mail with a subject, "CONGRATULATIONS for being a finalist in ALCATEL'S GLAM 810D promo! Tell your friends to vote now!"

Funny because the e-mail contains a longer subject than the actual message! The message says, 'Voting is from now until May 30 :) Tell your friends!'. If their aim is to immediately catch the attention of the finalist, it worked well because I hurriedly checked out their website and found out that it was for real! My entry to Alcatel's Dare To Be Different Promo was chosen to be at the final 5! Honestly, this is one of the contests I just randomly entered upon browsing my twitter timeline. So I was surprised that I made it. I didn't even anticipate for it. But one thing I am proud of is that I answered my best dare to be different moment from the bottom of my heart. See my entry here:

My best 'dare to be different' moment was when I decided to started blogging, last month. I was afraid at first, mainly because of my figure, but then I knew that I have to keep my faith with myself and pursue my passion for it. Otherwise, I might end up asking myself, 'What ifs'. Whatever it takes, I know I just have to MAKE THINGS WORK OUT. Now, I am starting to feel the happiness while having that sense of fulfillment. Finally, I am able to explore and share to the world a bit of me while gaining friends from various places and discovering what's inside me. One thing I learned from it so far is that I don't need to try hard to become different, I just have to be myself, feel the confidence in me and keep believing on (what I never thought) I can do! I will never stop reaching for the highest star in the universe!

They were all true, I was afraid to blog because I know that once I open even just a single window of myself, it means I opened the book of my life with millions and tons of eyes...of criticisms,  judgments...and belittling. Why did I think so? Because of my figure. Because I am a communication graduate with latin honors and I ought not to commit a single mistake with every post I make. I was afraid because I wasn't born with a golden spoon. I was afraid because I know blogging could take me to a certain cost. For so many times, I proved how great our Father is. You know what? All my inhibitions were suddenly erased when I came across to a blog that aims to inspire plump women of all ages. I felt like I finally found my home, a reason to push forward and courage to challenge myself.

Thank you Plump Pinays for being such an inspiration. Also to Alex Lapa for sharing the wonderful quote from Tim Gunn, "Make it work out". Thus, making my entry reach the final stage of Alcatel's Dare To Be Different Promo with the prize of Alcatel Glam 819D, which, isn't as expensive as Iphone, Blackberry and other Smartphones nowadays. Yet, I find the phone stylish, unique and girly with its compact-like-look.

I cannot say that my entry is the best of all for each of us is different in our own unique personalities and stories. Still, I feel eager to win since I made to the final stage of the contest and I am one step closer to having that tiny and chic cellphone. Whether I make it or not, the fact that i got featured on Meg Magazine's home page is already a reward that will be treasured forever. :)

Currently, I am on the 2nd spot among the 5 finalists. Voting has started last week and will end on May 30. I do hope you can support me with this one sweeties! ♥

Check out the mechanics here:
How to vote for Sunshine:
1. Click on the Disqus Like button (1 point), Share on Facebook (1 point) and post a comment (2 points) if you want to vote for Dorcas to win.
2. The nominee with the most number of DISQUS Likes (1 point), Shares (1 point) and Comments (2 points)by 12noon of May 30, 2012 will win the brand new Alcatel Glam 819D chic cellphone.
3. Winners will be announced on MEG and Alcatel Facebook and Twitter pages AND on iammeg.ph
4. Prize will be claimed by the winner at Strata 100, Ortigas Center, Pasig City

You now know what to do! Please please do vote for me here: http://iammeg.ph/news/dare-to-be-different-sunshine-manahan

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy mother’s day to all the MOMS, MAMAS, MOTHERS, GRANDMOTHERS, NANAYS, INAYS, and LOLAS,in the world!

I wanna thank my mom for carrying me into her womb for 9 months and letting me witness the world. ♥

Let me share to you a littlee drama guys. This event of the year is actually the saddest for me, I feel envious to all the girls out there sharing photos, stories of their lives with their moms. You are so lucky and blessed guys.

Most of the time, especially when I feel alone or something happened that made me feel super bad, I can’t help but to think of how my mom would comfort me, or how it feels to be hugged by her. Yes, I can’t remember for she’s been long gone, exactly 19 years and 9 months and 9 days today. I had so many questions, what ifs  and maybes back then. Why my mom?  Why that early? Why GOD let it happened? Yes, at some point of my life I questioned GOD.   What if she's still with us? What if we're still together? Maybe I'd be a different girl today. Maybe we are an excellent example of a perfect and happy family. Maybe I am not doing this post today if...only...she's still alive. But I think LIFE is made that way, it's a big  and mysterious journey and only the ONE who knows only knows.

As I grow older, I gradually realize that there’s no need for me to feel sad or envious or pity of myself.  I am even more lucky compare to other children...Today, I am rather grateful for God gave us such a wonderfcul dad albeit HE took away our mom 2 months after she gave birth to our bunso.

I know that my mom is always around us, watching and protecting us from all the harms of the world. Now I learned to focus my attention instead to the most important people in my life.
I wanna thank these people below here who tirelessly care and shower the '3 piglets' with unconditional love.

To my best enemy, my Grandma for helping out my dad raise 3 matatakaw and makukulit na piglets. LOL!  haha.

To my ‘mommy susan’ my dads sister, for also being there for us since we were kids...

Last but will never be the least, to my PAPA OTIS! HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO MY DAD! CHEERS! (with echo echo echooo echoooo….LOL)

Just like what Bimbi tell to his mom in a commercial, you’re OUR NUMBER 1! Thank you PAPA for all the sacrifices. For the love and for being strong for us. We couldn't imagine if GOD didn't give us YOU. You are the best DAD in the world for the three of us. I promise to be there for you Papa even if I get married or have my own family. I'll take care of you because I know I cannot do better than what you did for us. You will always be my driving force and inspiration and I will always be your unica hija, your stubborn yet sweet little princess. From the bottom of my HEART, THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU PA! :)

Let's seize up each and everyday with our parents guys. When it  comes to ur parents, there shouldn’t be ‘there’s  still tomorrow'. Nothing can beat their love, patience and understanding. We owe everything to them so they deserve to feel loved and special every second, every minute, every day and every time we are with them.

Look at us Mama, I believe, it is because of your guidance as well that we were able to surpass all the hardships and turmoils that crossed our way as a family and we will continue to be. We may not see and feel you physically but in our hearts, you are the best mom in the world! I know you are happy wherever you are. Stay and never get tired of us Mama. I love you with all my heart and soul. ♥

Enjoy your day with your moms and whole family! Wishing you an unforgettable and meaningful mother's day!

Sorry for the early cheesyness guys. I think all of us can be this corny when talking about our loved ones, right? Don’t forget to greet your moms a happy mothers day and seal it with a very tight cuddle and sweet looong kiss on their cheek or forehead! ♥

Love,
SunDMan

Friday the 13th

Suuuuuper late post! hahaha.

Well anyway, I had a FUNtastic Friday the 13th as opposed to the belief that this day brings bad luck to people. In every rule there's an exemption and that's me. LOL.

*Friday morning I made the announcement of winners for my first mini giveaway made possible thru Miss Mannequin to the Heatwave Summer Bazaar. :)

*Friday morning I shared a status saying 'I am soooo P.G. (Puro Gastos) HAHA'. How true! HAHAHA.

*Friday evening I went to SM Center Valenzuela to treat myself and made a little shopping because it was pay day! It was also SALE at the mall so I was able to grab cute items for low costs! I bought some clothes to fill in my closet (well it's already jam-packed) haha, like 2 blazers for Php150.oo each, a dress for only Php250.oo and a blouse for another 150.oo. All in all, I spent less than Php1,500.oo for more than 1 garment where in I usually spend that much for a pair of shoes only! HAHA. Am I starting to learn how to spend wisely? LOL! SALES and BAZAARS are now my new best friends. haha! So ayun nga, I am a certified P.G.! HAHAHA.

I had fun doing shopping alone and I always do. Growing up with 3 boys (my dad and 2 brothers), I learned how impatient men are when it comes to shopping. HAHAHA! *peace* Even my boyfriend. Like if we're dating in a mall and decided to shop, we have to seperate ways so we can buy whatever we wanna buy or else we'll end up buying nothing at all. Really! HAHAHA! Admit it girls, we're the only ones who understand each other when it comes to mall-ing! :)

On a serious note, I used to believe that Friday the 13th is indeed a not-so-luck day. Now I guess some things out of our control are really bound to happen. It solely depends on us on how we are going to live and face them. Remember, being HAPPY is a CHOICE. And to choose or not to choose is always a CHOICE. Well then, I would always CHOOSE the brighter side of life. ☺

How about you? How's your April Friday the 13th? :)

Mucho Love,
